VERA
NOVA, PRESIDENT/FOUNDER
The idea of building a futuristic anti-Metropolis that aims to
serve as an inspiration and possible standard for other communities around
the world, belongs to Vera Nova. She is the founder of the Nova Town,
501(c)3 public nonprofit organization.
The uniqueness of Vera's
own methods of thinking, her writing, art, music and profound ideas on "a
mind's art studio" of perceptions, are unquestionable to the experts and
laymen. Her lifetime experience manifests her great ability and skills in
bringing innovative projects to life. Vera Nova has devoted her career to
targeting troubling situations and applying uncommon solutions to
problematic circumstances. She has successfully completed many of her
challenging projects, which clearly manifest high standards in ethics and
human values. She believes that the greatest power is the power of
creativity, not of destruction. Nature's change means our continuity, and
we shall learn how to keep up with it by discovering our endless
possibilities to evolve our minds. If we are afraid of changing our old
recycling psyche, our conventions, and the mode of living, we are dooming
our future.
Based on Vera Nova's idea, a virtual New Era Expo,
www.neweraexpo.com, has been recently designed to provide superb
year-round exposure for alternative energy producers, eco-friendly and
soundly traditional businesses, organic farming and advanced education.
This campaign is aiming to encourage "a new generation of learning
consumers to grow", peacefully boost new economy and innovation based on
new market demand without fighting dominating gigantic industries.
In 1996 she founded an unusual art contest for discovering
underestimated art, "The International Art Search for the Most Unique
Image," which was enthusiastically received among artists, museums, and
art collectors.
Vera Nova's original art, music, books, fine
cuisine, and breakthrough philosophy bring a true delight to people's
hearts and great inspiration to their minds. Encouraged by scholars, Vera
Nova is completing her lifetime experience manuscript, "The Artist's Notes
On Humans and The Universe," discovering still unknown to us nature's
fundamental laws of perceptions, that govern our unique human reality.
Charles
Whitley, Treasurer
Charles V. Whitley's profound knowledge in many 'chapters' of
history, philosophy, classical art, architecture, mathematics and natural
sciences is hard to overestimate. In his everyday life Charles Whitley V.
Ph.D., S.E. has been designing unique residential and commercial
structures for several decades. Whitley is currently completing a
manuscript on the philosophy of science.
M.
BURROUGHS, Director
 M. Burroughs is a recognized author, TV personality,
professional musician, comic book writer, photographer and teacher. One of
the pioneers and innovators of the electronic gaming industry, he was
written extensively for both consumer game magazines and business
magazines covering the wide world of electronic entertainment software. He
has been interviewed in numerous books on the subject and has appeared
regularly on TV and radio shows, as well as numerous documentaries,
including one produced by Disney Studios. Burroughs is currently
completing a novel and a series of short stories. In addition to his
business pursuits, M. Burroughs teaches a course on electronic games
design and technology at the University of Las Vegas.
Leonard
Slatest, Director
Over the last 26 years, Leonard Slatest has participated in
scientific research projects modeling a wide variety of physical and
mathematical processes: oceanographic modeling (vertical eddy viscosity in
the presence of baroclinic flow in coastal waters), remote sensing of
global Rare Earth minerals by orbiting satellite (cosmogenic
eutron-capture-produced nuclides in stony meteorites), quantum mechanics
(electron scattering research), nuclear reactor simulation for safety
analysis, modeling van der waals forces in aerosols, and the development
of a finite element parabolic partial differential equations solver. He
performed his thesis in radio astronomy. He is an Advanced Technology
Engineer and is currently engaged in parallelizing a global climate model,
one aim of which is better prediction of the Greenhouse Effect. He is a
member of the American Institute of Physics National Physics Honor Society
Sigma Pi Sigma.
Nova Town has a
group of volunteers, supporters and open-minded, highly experienced in
their fields consultants. Among them are architects, psychologists,
engineers, inventors, educators, artists and writers.
