Cleverness is not wisdom.

Ignorant men raise questions that wise men
answered a thousand years ago.

thing and wisdom another. Juvenal
PRESIDENT's MESSAGE
I am very grateful to you for giving us a chance to briefly introduce our unique, ambitious project.
The Nova Town Society is a registered charitable organization that seeks to build a one-of-a-kind futuristic community to explore and nurture new environmental, ethical, economic, and educational concepts and solutions based on innovative micro-economy within its unique small systems.
Our Nova Society has formed to bring its goal of building a small, futuristic anti-Metropolis, "Nova Town", to reality. No longer can we afford to sit back and let our mindsets doom our future. We have to discover how to realistcally change our very mentality and lifestyle, by actually doing it. This new approach to learning about and practicing our endless possibilities to evolve our minds, knowledge and our perception of the natural world is impossible to overestimate.
Nova Town has been designed as a vital and peaceful place for healthy collaboration of small, flexible economic, financial, educational and cultural local systems. Unlike our gigantic modern mass-production and commercial systems, Nova Town's flexible systems can successfully avoid economic, health and environmental manmade disasters. When we need to adjust to change and new conditions we greatly depend on these small businesses, hardworking intuitive people who run them, sound innovation and creative entrepreneurship.
Gigantic systems shall never suppress small businesses, but build their supportive and helpful infrastructure outside small communities. Commercial airports, thoughtful interstate road systems, emergency hospitals, and some chain-stores to be located down major interstate commutes, can be very helpful in cases of emergency or any kind of crisis. Therefore we still need them. However gigantic manufacturers, chain stores and cookie-cutter shopping malls shall never control unique communities, small towns and villages, where innovative and traditional small businesses are serving local community specific local needs and lifestyle.
Can our future be very different from today's reality, in the most wonderful ways? Can it be a future in which one celebrates his or her Personal Independence Day, every day; where the Golden Rule is thoughtfully corrected, and advises "Never treat others as you would like to be treated yourself - unless they agree to it first - because what "works" for you may be damaging for others"; and where the denizens of the small town in which one lives grow more beautiful and refined with age, because they never stop learning how to ultimately explore their creative minds?
Would it be possible to begin to build that future today? Would it be possible to begin to build it without the need for argument with the established authorities, or bloody fights and wars?
The Nova Town shows it is possible, however if we understand better what we are doing today. Our vast, contemporary systems force us to squeeze our feet into a pair of one-size-fits-all shoes, and our minds into conventional thinking. In this age of rapid communication, we can reach one another almost instantly, anywhere in the world. But for all that, we do not understand each other any better than millennia ago. We fight for our own point of view forgetting that every creature has its own truths stemming from its unique existence, and perception of that existence.
In spite of this fundamental law of nature, every living form is unique, our manmade society assumes a fictional, collective prototype. It is a construction not geared for the good of the individual, but for a purpose of controlling many people, manipulating their mentality and needs. However, our minds become so occupied slaving for our brainless profit-driven systems that we no longer take time to contemplate who we really are and what we are physically and mentally consuming and becoming. It is time to honor the uniqueness of each mind and body, each person, by creating smaller systems and communities more adaptable to each of us, which will be able to provide healthier services for real people, not widgets conforming to an unnatural collective mould.
While encouraging our personal creative abilities, we still need to learn the basic principals of communicating with each other and nature. We shall learn how to be more innovative and intuitive facing the world which is new and different, in every instant.
Nova Town will reflect a truly original, new vision of what a small futuristic town can look and feel like. With its enchanting architecture, narrow streets, curved walkways, unique stores, libraries, theaters, and park-like atmosphere, the Nova Town's environment will be that of an exciting, peaceful sanctuary where visitors of all kinds can contemplate themselves, others, and nature in more peaceful and creative ways. The only time we can truly learn and understand is when we are able to compare. Nova Town is the future we can discover together. Come to us, think with us, build with us.
Yours,
VERA NOVA, Founder and Creative Director
